Who’s your tattoo artist?
Long before I started my tattoo journey, I was a caregiver for 14 years at a group home, spending time with adults who needed extra care to thrive. Between long overnight shifts, I was always searching for the perfect career in art-making. Over the years I dabbled in a variety of artistic careers, including children’s book illustration, showing work in coffee shops, and even owning a letterpress print studio for 9 years, but nothing quite combined my two favorite skills: caregiving and drawing.
Until I found tattooing. <3
In 2018, I decided to switch my focus entirely on tattooing. I felt like I finally found my perfect ven diagram: combining my love of caring for people, and utilizing a liftime of building my drawing skills, the in-between of those two circles was tattooing.
Fast forward to today - aside from consensually stabbing people most days of the week, I also love spending time with my two fully grown children, wandering off on an ADHD sidequest (aka, starting a new hobby that I’ll never fully finish), and running around doing errands for my lovely shop Birdhouse Tattoo.
